24/52 :: Airplane
For the first time in his life, the little guy realized he could see things in the sky! We'd tried to point out helicopters and airplanes to him before, but he never saw them. Now, every time one goes over he looks up and points excitedly.
Oh, and the backdrop, yep, that's our new patio and yard! We found a house to rent and are now working on getting our stuff shipped there {the army is having a bit of difficulty...they cancelled our shipment, so now our stuff is in a warehouse in Baltimore waiting to get sent our way}. In the meantime, it's a good thing we brought lots of basics with us just in case! We're now out of the hotel too, so my internet access will probably be limited to Starbucks for a week or two. But I'll have plenty of time to stitch and write posts at the house {I think}. I'll be around!

Frustrating! We've had that same thing happen to us. Years ago when we moved to Panama, packed out all our stuff early, and then took 30 days leave. When we got in country we got quarters immediately, and loaner furniture. My husband kept going to transportation and they kept saying, oh the shipment is on it's way, be here soon. This went on for a month. Finally my husband started having a bit of a fit, and someone finally started actually looking at the paperwork. Sure enough, our stuff was never transported at all. It was still sitting in the states. Let me tell you, I was darned sick of loaner furniture!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling baby! I'm sure he brings you joy every day.
Glad you found a place Jennie! And as far as the planes go, you're going to hear that for a while! And you'll be amazed at how much quicker they can see them then you can! I was always shocked at how quickly both of mine would see them. And I would end up standing there going, "Um, where?" But they were always right!
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting all of your stuff from the army. We are struggling with the army too trying to figure out if my hubby has to PCS in 5 weeks or if he is going TDY. If it is PCS talk about stress, especially since we bought a house last month thinking it was TDY and return. The patio looks awesome, seems like you found a lovely home to spend this assignment in :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I remember when my daughter first noticed things above her, when we pushed her in the stroller with the infant seat. She started laughing and giggling at the tree branches above her!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you found a home! Enjoy the process of making it yours. Can't wait to see pics.
ReplyDeleteOMG, so cute! My "little" boy is now 18 years old and 6'6", how time flies! No pun intended or was it?? ;D
