A couple weeks ago I was invited to sew at a friend's house {yes, I have sewing friends now, hooray!}. So, I packed up my enormous sewing machine, dragged it to her house, only to forget the pedal at home. As I told this story to Josiah, he suggested maybe I needed a smaller machine to take with me {yes, I know, this sounds too good to be true, but he knows me too well...remember?!}. So I started dreaming and shopping for another machine...and this is what I came up with:
Yep, a Hello Kitty Janome. Between the cuteness {a deciding factor}, price {just over $100}, and brand {it's a real Janome...not a toy!}, I couldn't resist! So now this cute machine has a new home with me. While it is technically my Christmas gift, I was allowed to have it early so it can get used when my mom visits if we get to some sewing! And I've already tested it out too:
I had made all the blocks for baby girl's quilt, and used Hello Kitty to piece them together. She sews amazingly well! Sure, there aren't a ton of features, but as far as the basics, it will work wonders. And, since it's only a 3/4 size machine, it will transport easily. It's like having a fun new toy!
Are you hoping for any sewing/quilting things for Christmas?
What a cute machine, lucky you!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh that is so awesome! I love it! What I'm wanting for Christmas involves massive amounts of construction crews and is not going to happen, ha ha! (that would be a new larger craft room...)
ReplyDeleteThis was my first sewing machine! I bought it for half-off ($50) on the Target clearance rack. Once I upgraded, I wasn't using it much anymore, so I actually sold it for $80 used. :)
ReplyDeleteStop it!! That is soo, so, cute!!! Great now I want one too!! I adore the colors of the quilt you are making.
ReplyDeleteThat is just too cute! My very first sewing machine was a Cabbage Patch Kids sewing machine for kids. I love that this one is a real machine! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! What a great idea! I am hoping for a Kindle Fire so that I can take it with me to my sewing space and follow all of the fun tutorials out there without running back and forth to the computer!!
ReplyDeleteMy boys are always begging for their own sewing machine....although not very manly, maybe this could be the one.
I'm not a Hello Kitty fan, but for the price and the features, I think I could really get into the Kitty! What a great little machine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute machine!! I love my Janome QE.
ReplyDeleteThe baby quilt is adorable. Someday you can teach your baby girl to sew on your cute little Hello Kitty machine!
seriously just too cute!!
ReplyDeleteThat is just too cute! I think I am making the same pattern that you are, but with three fabrics per block. Just finished cutting it out. Gonna go do some rearranging, like yours better!
ReplyDeleteShe really is super cute. Do you name your machines? I don't but I know some people do and I was wondering if you would name her Kitty? LOL
ReplyDeleteI think that's so cute - and I normally don't really like Hello Kitty. Must be because it's blue rather than pink. I think I might get lucky this Christmas with a designer fat quarter club membership! So very excited!
ReplyDeleteOMG I've wanted one of those for so long! They are just the most adorable things ive ever seen!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I did the same thing this year, got an incredible price on a viking emerald to take with me to classes and open sews. So much lighter than my workhorse. I would say that I use them both equally now, and it's fantastic that my little basic one has features that I love as much as my big machine.
