Fabric Decisions

I recently signed up for a few new swaps. The first was the Potholder Pass, and the theme is Monotone. I was really excited to get my partner info, until I discovered that the color my partner picked was...brown!  Okay, let me be honest, I was super bummed.  I dug around in my stash and came up with a few browns, but nothing that seemed very exciting.  Then, it occurred to me: Pure by Sweetwater would be perfect!  I had some, that I've been thinking of making a quilt for my living room with, so I broke it out.

Once I got it out and started planning, I got excited, what other color has a built-in neutral?  I've got a few pieces sewn up, but I'll wait to show that until I get a little further.  So, I hope this is the kind of brown my partner was hoping for.

Now, on to the Doll Quilt Swap {I can hardly believe I got in!}...I'm a little torn because every fabric I seem to think might be perfect my partner, she seems to have already used.  So, my first good idea is this mix of Sandi Henderson fabric.  I think it's cute and fresh looking, perfect for spring.  I don't really have an idea what I will make with it, but at least fabric is a start!

  1. I would be bummed about brown, too. It's not that I don't like brown, because I do, but an entire project in monotone with brown seems kind of drab (just my personal opinion). I like brighter colors, or even pastels. It looks like you've found a great stash to use for your partner though, so I hope she likes it, too!
