After my tutorial, Summertime Adventures: Stitchy Hexagons, I have been making more and more of these. I am using Sophie by Chez Moi in this project, so pretty! I like all the prints in this line especially the pinks and blues.
In the middle hexagon is another little embroidery I stitched, it is one of my doodles. Then, I choose some embroidery floss to stitch them up with and enjoy them in any type of project, I think it adds a little something special.
I am still trying to decide if I should add more embroidered hexies and use them in the centers and make them into the traditional flowers or just let it grow and add embroideries randomly throughout. I am not sure when I will stop with this one, maybe a mini quilt, a baby quilt or table runner!
Thanks so much for all the sweet comments about my flowers it was so fun to read them. I am glad you all like to look at flowers as much as I do. Have a great day!
LOVE! I still have yet to try my hand at some heagons. It would be so pretty to have embroidered hexagons randomly scattered amongst the fabric. I love that idea :)
ReplyDeletePretty colors! You ladies are so talented with your embroidery, too.
ReplyDeleteYour hexies are beautiful and I love the embroidery.
ReplyDeleteI really dig the idea of scattered embroidery. It'd be a break from the traditional hexie flower design.
ReplyDeleteLoving those hexis - especially in those fabrics! I'd add a bit more embroidery. It adds so much texture and is a jolt of excitement in between the fabric hexis.
ReplyDeletelove your hexies and flowers
ReplyDeleteLove them. I think you should do it random. More fun that way.
ReplyDeleteOH, this is cute, having "secret" embroidered hexagons. I vote having them randomly throughout the quilt, like delightful little surprises :) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
ReplyDeleteLove the embroidered flower! I think I would add random ones throughout! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I have never made a hexie...but you're so inspiring! It looks lovely and I can't wait to see what you finally decide to do!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, I have been thinking about doing just the same, likemindedness and all that!!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see that little embroidered hexie I am more in love with it!
ReplyDeleteI like the random idea. Love your embroidered hexie.
ReplyDeleteoh!!!! i love this! great job!!
