Fitting Right In



Yes, that's Marmalade! I didn't really even realize that is goes with my things I have nestled on top of my hutch in my (non-formal) dining room. I am not a formal person and wouldn't know what to do with anything formal. I wouldn't be able to sew and craft on my table like I love to if it was formal.


My children were all home schooled at this table, we enjoyed getting out the stamp pads, paper, glue,
glitter, scissors, sewing machine, fabric, oh and I can not forget paper dolls. We would invite cousins and friends over to create beautiful things with us and have fun over lunch and chatting. We had a very small area in our home that really only the table fit in and we would all huddle around and enjoy each others company. Seems like forever ago!

    I too am not a "formal" person. My sis and I were just discussing how we want our homes to feel. For her it is white towels, Eqyptian Cotton sheets, also white. Upscale, Quite, Spa like. For me? My sheets COULD be white be if so they would have to have ruffles or embroidery. Something! I'm more cottage/cute. Guess that is why I'm a quilter. I love a riot of textures and colors. I truly enjoy your blog. Thanks! I know it takes a great deal of effort. Toni

    Marmalade is lovely...as is your home. I like the lived in comfy approach myself. I surround myself with things that make me happy.

    Lovenyour house! I too have many memories of all the time spent around that table! And we have done lots of sewing there, for lots and lots of years. Can't wait until I live closer so we can do some more!

    We too have a table that was surrounded with school assignments and lots of crafts. Not to mention birthday parties. :0) It is now painted and in my craft room. I am not formal either. :0) Your marmalade is gorgeous. Where oh where were you able to find it? Love. Trish

    Our "dining" room table was our everything table. Many hours of crafts, homework and games were done on that table!! I love your stack of marmalade!! Where did you find the fat quarters?? I cannot wait for the yardage!

    Nothing formal in my home either. =)

    I want to get my hands on Marmalade when it come out. It looks so cute with your chicken. =) it will match the chicken in my kitchen, too. That settles its off the want list and on the NEED list.

    I did not know you homeschooled your kids! I did, too, though my youngest is now in he public high school. He needs to be there to prepare for the type of college he wants to go, too. And, he needed a break from me. =)

    They are the prettiest colors...so bright and lively! When we all meet at my Mom's, we love gathering around her kitchen table, just like yours'...those are the best of times! Nice post...it made me think of Mom!

    We are creating those moments to, I currently home school around our table and have friends over for crafting days... my friend Nicky and I are planning some craft days for our girls next holidays...:O)

    What a beautiful memory, Clara. I homeschooled mine too and those years are some of my most profound happy memories. Now my eldest girl is homeschooling her two sons, and my youngest daughter plans to be a homeschool mum one day too. :-)

    such a sweet display. It would be hard for me to use the fabric, it is so pretty sitting there.
    I homeschooled my 3 kids too for 16 years.It was hard sometimes but I really enjoyed it a lot. I think they did too.
