Needing Motivation

It's been one of those days for a while now...you know, the kind where you admire all your pretty sewing things and fabric, but never actually switch on the sewing machine...good thing my mom has been making such pretty things to keep us all inspired!

This is how life has looked at my house, Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease...poor little boy!

Dress

Fortunately, this little girl hasn't caught it {yet}, and she is just the most cheerful little one too!  I have a hard time capturing her smile these days because all she wants to do is stand, but she's not very sturdy, so it makes it hard to get pictures.  Here she is modeling the dress Grandma had made for her!

Maybe today I'll get a little sewing done, how do you regain your motivation when you've hit a slump?

  2. I'm stuck in a no-sew funk too. Blah. Too bad about your little guy having hand-foot-mouth. I remember my nephews having it, although my sister in law always called it hoof and mouth disease......

  4. So far, I haven't! But if I ever do I'll let you know. I think it might involve shipping children to Grandma's for a day or so....

Poor Silas. I hope he's not in any pain or anything. And I hope Norah doesn't get it!

  5. I can't find motivation when anything is "off" in my life and that would include family illness. Our little grandson Silas just had this, too. Just do what you want to do. Creative inspiration always returns whether it's sooner or later. :o)

  6. Oh hun, I know exactly how you feel!!! and my kids are 8,11! You know, I can guarantee that these days will pass so quickly and you will look back when they were sooooo small and wonder where the time has gone.

I hope you get some little bits of 'me' time in there somewhere. =)

Norah looks ADORABLE in her dress too!

  7. Aww such cuties!! Hand-foot-and-mouth has been really prevalent here too; even made the nightly news. Hope your little guy feels better soon! I think I'd be petting all those gorgeous fabrics under that table! And your sewing machine is so cute! I know you are busy working. ;-) Do something small, it will motivate you to want to do something bigger. Does that make sense? LOL :-) Have a happy day!

  11. Your children are precious! Don't worry about slumps...mommies get pretty tired at times!

  12. When I get into a slump, I either curl up with a book and clean my mind of all projects for a bit or else I tour pinterest and soak up more inspiration. Depends on the kind of slump I am in.

  13. You search pinterest under quilting, or english paper piecing, or something else you have been meaning to try, and then you see some color or some quilt or color combination that you simply MUST try!
