Have a Hoot Pattern {Giveaway}

Happy Monday everyone!  I cannot believe the weekend is over so quickly!  So, let's start this week off with a giveaway!  My blogging friend Jenelle, whom I met during Embroidery 101, has opened a pattern shop {find it here: Crafsty & Meylah}.  Her first offering, this adorable owl embroidery pdf pattern:

I've been meaning to make some new pillow covers for my house, so this one is on the list now {I'm thinking Vintage Modern for Norah's room!}.

Not only is the owl an adorable, original design, the pattern is very clearly written with plenty of diagrams.

Jenelle also includes directions for making the embroidered owl into pillow cover, which is a great way to incorporate some quilting with embroidery, without having to make an entire quilt.

Now for the fun part, would you like to win a copy of this adorable pdf pattern?  Perfect, because we're giving one away.  Just leave a comment letting us know your favorite embroidery stitch, or why you'd like to learn to embroider, if you haven't started yet.  Entries are open through Sunday, September 2nd, and then we'll draw a winner.  Please make sure that your e-mail address is in your profile or that you add it to your comment, so we can send you the pattern if you win!

Happy Stitching!

  5. This is so cute! My favorite stitch is a french knot because I only learned how to do it properly in the last 6 months. Somehow for 15 years I had been doing it wrong and never getting a nice bumpy knot, and then one day it just happened! Like magic! =)

  18. Oh that is a really cute owl (and pillow)! I enjoy embroidering although I am (abashedly) just finishing the Embroidery/Quilt-Along you did last year. My little ones keep me busy! I like the chain stitch, not because it is so useful for many looks but because I just think it's fun to do. :) Here's hoping I win so I can have another (small) project to work on!

  20. Love this! I always used the stem stitch because that is the stitch my mother taught me for outlining. But I have found that the back stitch makes it easier for me to keep the design looking crisp to me.
