Merry Go Round Quilt progress

My cutting and sewing table looks like this right now, and I love it! I am so excited to go in there in the morning and get to my sewing while the sun is shining and I can sip on a fresh cup of coffee!

This is the pattern I am using, fom McCall's Quilting Oct. 2008, it is a little different from the pattern I first posted about. I didn't know but there are at least three variations of this quilt, all by Sandy Klopp! The first one I showed uses three jelly rolls, which made a very large hexagon block, this one in the magazine uses two jelly rolls. And... this version you can see on PamKittyMorning's blog uses one jelly roll, and one honey bun, I think, I love her fabric choices!! That is a lot in one breath!

There is a lot of sewing and cutting and pressing but I love this quilt. It is so bright and cheery!! I am excited to see it finished and bound. If you want to see this same quilt made and almost finished go here, Amy has made it and it is gorgeous, she's really fast!! We both wanted to make this quilt and have done sort of a quilt-a-long, more like, we are working on the same quilt but at our own pace. We are thinking about another quilt-a-long and I think it is a fun way to make a quilt and be encouraged along the way. We will let you know as soon as we decide on a quilt and when we plan to begin and maybe you would like to join us, no pressure!!

It's almost the weekend! Hope you have a great day and enjoy what ever you are doing!

  4. It's beautiful Clara. I am so tempted by that pattern but I have a couple of things that need finishing up before I dare start anything new. Maybe then I'll be ready to join your next quilt along with no quilt! LOL
