Reflection

I always loved the ocean when I was growing up.  I couldn't imagine living anywhere that wasn't a couple hours from the nearest coastline.  But it wasn't until last fall that I really discovered how much I loved lakes.  Not the huge, ocean-like bodies of water I'd previously associated with lakes {like Lake Ontario}, but small lakes, surrounded with trees where the glassy surface reflects the world around it, interrupted by only a few ripples.

While I still love rolling tides, that saltwater scent, and the breeze that is always blowing in from afar, I have a special fondness for the still, quiet reflection of a little lake, it takes me back to a simpler time where life wasn't always a busy rush.

I took this photo while we were out driving last weekend...I have no idea where!

  2. Lakes have a different "energy" (for lack of a better word)...they can be so relaxing and peaceful. Great blog!
