A Different Kind of Skyline
We took a little drive this weekend, the Skyline drive, to be exact. It is a winding road that weaves over the peaks of the Shenandoah Mountains offering stunning views both east and west.
It was a bit of a hazy day, so the views are not as crisp as they could be, but they are still stunning. One doesn't often get the opportunity to view the world from a mountain peak {at least not this one}.
Although we knew it was a bit early in the season, we were hoping to see some fall foliage, and we did. Since we drove from the south to the north of the drive, we began reaching the fall colors as the sun started to set, which added that brilliant glow.
The little guy also did amazing in the car {a 35mph speed limit for over a hundred miles is a long drive for eight months}, I think it helped that his grandma was sitting next to him though!
We're already anxious for the next exploration, and since the Blue Ridge Parkway has the same starting point but goes in the opposite direction, I think we'll be heading there soon!

You must come down the Blueridge Parkway! It is amazing! I have done it from the Skline Drive all the way to the end many times!
