Happy Happy

The birthday party turned out wonderful!  Although I was worried that perhaps I was going to enjoy the party more than Silas, I don't think that was the case.  In fact, everyone seemed to have a fabulous time.  I'm both sad and excited that my baby boy is one-year-old.  It's been quite the challenge, but worth every moment.  It was great to see him play with his cousins yesterday, run around and around the living room, open gifts {with help}, and be have so much like a little boy.  But, before I start tearing up, I'll change the subject and share a little about my easy party decor.

The kids got to decorate their own birthday crowns {and I got to do the ones for the little kids}, I punched a bunch of crown confetti, and made a little pennant for the giant cupcake.  To match the birthday banner, I made a little mini quilt to use as a table runner {I'll have a close up later in the week, once it's quilted - I didn't have any gray thread!}.

We also used a castle and crown cookie cutter {I was surprised how difficult it was to find boy castle themed things, everything is princess, however, with cookie cutters it was an easy switch!} to complete the theme.  I think we had one happy birthday boy!

If you've made any of these projects, we'd love to see photos, please add them to our Flickr group!  Hopefully there will be many more happy birthdays in our family and yours!

  2. It was a successful party, the decorations, treat bags and goodies to eat were all perfect. The birthday boy and his guests had fun, fun, fun!
