We Made It

{...Sort of...}  We made it to California from Virginia via Washington after over nine days of driving, a week of vacationing with family, and lots of hotel rooms and restaurants. The only problem...we are having a terrible time finding a place to live.  We had looked at houses in the community before our arrival, but we were really hoping some military housing would work out instead.

Unfortunately, no such luck.  Instead we're staying in a hotel, searing for houses online, driving by potential picks, and contacting realtors.  I'll admit I'm a bit tired and discouraged, but at least it is comforting to know that we'll find somewhere and we're still a happy family.  There may be fewer posts over the next few weeks, but I'll at least keep up with the Stitch & Quilt Along and try to find a few other fun things too!

Oh, and as no post is complete without a photo, here's my favorite family photo of us.  My mom took it in their back yard.  We had such a wonderful time at our last home, it is hard to imagine anything could compete, but I know there will be new and different adventures here, we'll just have to be patient.

  2. What a beautiful family -- you have so much more than many people do. Anywhere you are together is home. Good Luck in your search -- I know you'll find the perfect "nest" soon:)

  3. CA is an awesome state. You'll love being able to visit all the great national parks there. We were there for four years and spent much of that touring. You're gonna love it! I'm sure the perfect house is waiting just for you.

  6. Good luck finding a house. CA is a a fun state. I have lived here all my life, both northern and southern california. Two very different places, but I was very happy in both. I hope you find something soon. I know everything will work out the way it is supposed to for you :)
