I want to be a Farmer's Wife

Surely you know the book, The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt?  I mean, it has been popping up all over blogland for the last year.  Well, my mom gave me the book for Christmas and I've poured over it, sticky-noted my favorites, and tried to decide what I'm going to make...

Then, Sunni e-mailed me to see if I was interested in being part of her blog hop Farmer's Wife in your Life.  I, of course, said yes.  And now it is getting underway!  So, here are the details {and I designed the button too!}:

Farmer's Wife in Your Life is a series inspired by The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt by Laurie Aaron Hird. The series will focus on using 6" quilt blocks in everyday sewing projects {you don't have to tackle the whole quilt to make good use of the blocks!}.

It starts with a preview post on Jolly Jabber on March 4th!

Here's the schedule:

Please link up a blog post or Flickr photo for your entry.

  1. Oh great.....now I have to join in on this too :) Ha!!!! My mom bought the book for me for my birthday in Feb. I love it too! I can't wait to get started. I have too many projects for sure :) How do you keep up with a little one to look after? Amazing!

  2. Wonderful. I have been gathering what I felt I needed for the Farmers Wife Quilt and deciding which piece from my stash to incorporate. I'll see if I can follow along. I bought the book because I feel I am an old Iowa farm girl at heart since both my folks came from there. @ Karen, I can relate to having too many projects. Oh well!

  3. I just bought that book a few weeks ago and have been itching to get going on it....now I have a reason too! Like most quilters, I have a few too many projects going. So, this weekend I MUST finish them up! Looking forward to starting this. Thank you, Kerri
