Lunch Bag Pattern Review :: Purse Palooza

Today you can find my pattern review of the Lunch Bag from the tutorial by Ayumi of Pink Penguin as part of the Sew Sweetness Purse Palooza.  I had a lot of fun making this little bag and have been using to to carry around my Garden Steps embroidery blocks!

And, for anyone who has been reading here very long, you know one of my goals is to mix fabrics instead of just using collections, like I usually do, and I am happy to say this little purse has quite the variety of fabric in it!  One little step in the right direction!

P.S.  I mentioned in my review that I was a little disappointed that the pattern had a raw edge on the inside, and I chose to finish mine with bias tape, which was a bit difficult.  However, Ayumi has since updated her tutorial with an easy way to finish the inside, yay!  What a great addition to an adorable bag!

  3. It's gorgeous! And you've done an excellent job mixing fabrics from different collections. That's my favorite way to sew - it's so much fun to hand pick your own "collection" for a project. :)

  6. I love this pattern. I can't begin to count how many I have made since she first put that tutorial up. I have made it the way the pattern was written and I have made it larger and smaller. Love every one of them.

  10. Thank you for sharing the most honest opinion on my lunch bag pattern over Sara's blog. I hope you enjoyed making your lovely bag anyway even if you had a difficulty with raw edges. I am going to edit my tutorial a bit to give my readers options to make all edges finished. Your French seam idea is so clever! And the way you made the outer patch work is sooo darling!
